It began with a deep love for nature …
Karen and Joe had always loved the outdoors. She took both her kids camping every chance that she’d get and raised them to love and appreciate Earth’s abundant beauty. Our tale begins in a backyard in the wilds of New Jersey.
Years passed and as the family grew larger, the same values were handed down. Karen’s daughter, Rachel, is now a proud Georgia homesteader and mother to seven children! Joe became a construction engineer and moved his dreams west to pursue all the hiking, fishing, outfitting and orienteering opportunities that beautiful Idaho and the Northwestern mountains, woods and waterways could offer.
Fast forward to 2024, when Karen and her colleague, Darryl, began chatting (most likely after another boring meeting) about where each had traveled and would most like to live. Darryl shared a lifelong desire to live in the Northwest. Raised a Carolina boy – one who’d never set foot in the mighty Northwest – he nevertheless knew that was where he was going. Someday ….
Further discussion revealed that Darryl was also looking forward to leading a more active lifestyle of outdoor recreation amidst breathtaking natural beauty. Karen and Darryl began pondering what-if’s and concluded that opening a campground together would be a great idea! A place offering uniquely cool lodging options (we think yurts are pretty chic!) and year-round attractions to satisfy the wants of both seasoned campers and those seeking a few more creature comforts (like indoor plumbing and a hot tub). A somewhat more “glamorous” version of traditional camping (where roughing it is optional) … in other words, GLAMPING!
